The fiddle Leaf Fig- A Green, Woody Plant

The fiddle Leaf Fig- A Green, Woody Plant

Basic Care

The fiddle leaf fig is a moderately easy plant to care for! They enjoy bright light and can withstand about 5 hours of direct sunlight a day.

Watering them is easy, too. Water about once a week and let the top few inches dry out completely before next watering.

They enjoy 35-65% humidity on average. If you live in a drier climate, misting your fiddle leaf fig a few times a week will benefit you and your plant!

Fertilization

Fiddle leaf figs do best when fertilized. About once a week at watering time during growing seasons(late spring and all summer). The best ratio of Nitrogen to Phosphorus to Potassium is a 3-1-2 ratio. Keep an eye out on those fertilizer bags!

Propagation? Yes!

The best way to propagate your fiddle leaf is to cut about ½” below the node(where new growth starts) and dip into rooting powder. After, drop the cutting into a propagation mix of ½ perlite and ½ peat moss. Cover with a bag and mist daily. Repeat for 4-6 weeks and you should be growing roots. Repot with potting soil and enjoy!
